Under Dr. Librach’s leadership, the SOFT team has been expanding to include a Clinic Director, as well as Infertility Nurse Specialists, an Ultrasound Team and more Administrative Staff, many of whom are already known to the clinic patients at SOFT.

Dr. Clifford L. Librach,
MD, FRCS(C), FACOG(REI) 

Dr. Clifford L. Librach, MD, FRCS(C), FACOG(REI) is a Graduate of the University of Toronto, where he completed his undergrad and his graduate Degree in Medicine. He continued at University of Toronto to obtain a specialty degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Librach went on to spend 3 years at the University of California in San Francisco becoming a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist.

Since 1991 Dr. Librach has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto. He has a clinical position in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sunnybrook Women’s College Hospital and is a Co-Director of the University of Toronto Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Clinic. He is the principal investigator in various clinical and embryology studies and on-going research at Women’s College Hospital and University of Toronto.

Dr. Librach has been published multiple times and he has played an active role in writing and presenting abstracts at various conferences and meetings. He is frequently interviewed for television, radio and print media.

Dr. James S. B. Martin

Dr. James S. B. Martin founded Southern Ontario Fertility Technologies in October 2000. He is well known to Southwestern Ontario from his associations with the infertility unit at London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus from 1993 to 2000. Presently working with HRT and transgender patients.

Dr. Martin received his honours B.Sc. and M.D. degrees from the University of Western Ontario in 1972 and 1976. He completed an internship at St. Joseph's Medical Centre in Toronto in 1977 and opened and maintained a family practice for 12 years in Midland Ontario. During that time, Dr. Martin lectured at the University of Toronto and in 1983, received his Certification in the College of Family Practice (CCFP).

Dr. Martin returned to the University of Western Ontario from 1989-1993 to complete his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He then completed a fellowship program in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada from 1993 to 1995. Next, he became a consultant in Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology at London Health Sciences Centre - University Campus and an Assistant Professor at the University of Western Ontario.


Cathy Frank
Dr. Cathy Frank

Dr. Frank received her medical training at Mc Master University (1994-1997) completing her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Western Ontario (1997-2001). Since graduation Dr. Frank held the position of Consultant in OB/GYN at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (2002-2010).

Dr. Frank joined the SOFT team in 2010, along side her husband, Dr. James Martin. They live in Fingal, Ontario and are very much at home there with her many pets (3 dogs, 4 cats, 3 goats and a budgie). In her spare time she is found at the Fingland Homestead reading, gardening and tending to her loyal companions.



Lauran Elford

Lauran Elford,BScN, RN

A Registered Nurse at Southern Ontario Fertility Technologies, Lauren has a long-held passion for and interest in the field of health care. Prior to graduating from the university of Western Ontario with a Master of Science in Nursing (MScN), she worked as a Personal Care Assistant at London, Ontario’s Parkwood Hospital where she cared for veterans with end-stage dementia. She also worked in a busy cardiology practice assisting with patient screening.

Lauren holds several awards and honours related to her work and studies. In addition to being a member of the Dean’s Honour List throughout her undergraduate years at the University of Western Ontario, Lauren is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International’s (STTI) Iota Omicron Chapter. STTI an honor society of nursing with 356 chapters in colleges and universities throughout the world, is committed to improving the health of the public by advancing nursing science.


Tanya Constantine

Tanya Constantine,
BScN, RN

After graduating from McMaster University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Tanya began her career as a research associate at McMaster’s Faculty of Nursing, studying quality of life in long term care facilities in the Hamilton area. This marked the beginning of a decade of experience in the field of health research where Tanya worked on projects looking into issues relating to prostate and other types of cancers, hematology, and acute pain. Through her research work she held positions at Toronto Hospital, Toronto Odette Cancer Centre, and, most recently, London Health Sciences Centre. In 2008, Tanya shifted her focus when she accepted a position as a registered nurse with the Telehealth Division of the Ontario Ministry of Health. While there, in addition to conducting health assessments via tele-triage, Tanya also worked as a crisis counselling specialist and implemented in-service training for nursing staff related to the care of oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Tanya is a member of the College of Nurses of Ontario and a Member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. She is also a volunteer Prevention Speaker with Ovarian Cancer Canada.

Luke Hoy,
Lab Tech

Luke is one of our lab technicians, handling the weekend workload here in the clinic.  Graduating from Southwestern Medix School, Luke has worked in various hospital and laboratory settings, including Gamma Dynacare and Parkwood Hospital here in London, as well as Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

Luke has a passion for learning, and has future plans to return to school to earn his BSc.  When he’s not working, Luke loves hanging out with his greyhound Darcy.
